Obituary of Regina Lea Pflanz Hottois
Regina Lea Pflanz Hottois of New Albany, Indiana passed away from cancer at the age of 47 on Friday, January 22, 2021. Regina was born on February 20, 1973 in Corydon, Indiana to Rick and Jean Pflanz, both of Corydon. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stanley and Nellis (Housefield) Pflanz and Herschel and Margie (Rhoads) Longacre, all of Corydon. Regina is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Ryan R. Hottois of New Albany, Indiana and her adored children, Sophia Grace (17) and Gavin Michael (16). Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Allison Pflanz Kelly (Kevin) of Avon, Indiana, brother, Rick Pflanz (Whitney), two brothers-in-law: Miguel Hottois of New Albany and Sean Hottois (Melissa) of South Bend, Indiana, and her adoring nieces and nephews: Ryan, Payton, Abigail, Ricky, Charleston, and Grey. Regina will be remembered as someone who had a true passion for her work and was blessed to have lived out her calling in life as a nurse and then later as a CRNA (nurse anesthetist) for Anesthesiology Associates, P.S.C. She had a brilliant mind and was respected and loved by her colleagues and patients for 25 years of practice. Regina was a devoted and loving wife and mother as well as an adored daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Her children, Sophia and Gavin, were the center of her world and the apples of her beautiful eyes. From a young age, she was an enthusiastic U of L Cardinals basketball fan. She enjoyed cheering on the Providence volleyball team and was a talented crafter who liked to make homemade gifts for friends and family. On a sunny summer day, you would find her sipping a sweet tea by her pool, truly enjoying her family and friends while captivating them with an animated story- told like only Regina could tell. Or maybe she would be rocking in her chair reading yet another book as she was such a voracious reader…You would be hard-pressed to find a bigger Harry Potter fan anywhere in the universe! Because she brightened the lives of everyone around her, the loss of Regina will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved her.
