Richard P. Dewhirst, 86, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at his home in Clarksville. He was born Sunday, January 20, 1929 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Robert B. and Bertha O. (Westbrook) Dewhirst. He was a member of Charlestown Road Church of Christ in New Albany and was a minister and a teacher. He also enjoyed singing and golfing.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday and after 11:00 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Friday at ¬the funeral home¬¬¬¬ with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
