Richard L. Griffin Sr.

Richard L. Griffin Sr., age 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Richard was born on August 29, 1936, in Charlestown, Indiana, to the late Raymond W. Griffin and Dorothy M. (Elliot) Griffin. He retired from General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky, after 42 years. He served as a U.S. Marine Engineer in the Korean War. His first love was Linda, and she gave him Kim, and Richard Jr. He was married twice, and found the love of his life on the second try that came with his bonus son and a brother for his children. He lived a good, full life.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; his wife and love of his life, Stella Griffin; brothers, William "Bud" Griffin, Lewis Griffin, and Walter Griffin; a sister, Dorothy Stanley; a sister in law and also second mother, Christina Griffin; a great grandson, Tytus Alexander Vester.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard L. Griffin Jr, Kimberly Griffin, and Jonathan Shane Griffin; grandchildren, Richard L. Griffin III, Bobbi Jo Mallonee, Jody Griffin, Lindi (Alexander) Vester, Jonathan Griffin, and Anthony Griffin; and great grandchildren, Andrew Mallonee, Haley Mallonee, and Evelyn Janette Vester.

A Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. His Funeral Service will be at Kraft Funeral Service on Monday at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
