

Richard P. Monroe, Sr., 89 years of age died Monday, May 3, 2013 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a native of New Albany, where he retired as a delivery man for Kaiser Tobacco Co. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of the old Holy Trinity Church and currently St. Mary's Catholic Church of New Albany. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, the former Wanda Lee Flora, his parents, Charles and Alice Byrne Monroe, brothers, Clarence "Zeke" and Clifford "Pete" Monroe and his sister, Beulah Cromwell.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am ~ 2:00 pm Thurday, June 6th at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 6th at Kraft Spring St. Funeral Chapel with military honors. Private burial will be at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
