Ricke Lee Buckel

RICKE LEE BUCKEL , 55, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. Ricke was born January 13, 1959 in New Albany, IN to the late Joseph and Wanda (Moore) Buckel. He was a store manager for Thornton’s and Murphy Oil Companies and was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany. Ricke was a 1977 graduate of Providence High School where he played football and enjoyed many sports; but most of all his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered, greatly missed and loved by his family and many friends. Survivors include his wife, Eva M. Byerley Buckel; four children, Sarah Buckel, Stephany Mercer and husband Jason, Stephen Mercer and wife Vivian, and Donald Mercer and wife Brittany; eight grandchildren, Jaelynn Crum, Cheyenne and Austin Adams, Terry, Olivia and Carley Shaver, Steven and Stella Mercer; and three siblings, Larry Buckel and wife Kitty, Linda Arrington and husband David, and Mark Buckel and wife Vanessa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reception of Family and Friends will be from 3:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Thursday and after 8:00 am Friday, June 20th at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday, June 20th at the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with cremation to follow.
