Robert "Bob" Hutchens

Robert "Bob" Hutchens, 78, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 3, 2026. Bob was born on April 10, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Elwood Hutchens and Mary (Yochem) Hutchens. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and followed his service with a long career as an electrician.

Bob enjoyed building and restoring many projects in his garage. Automobiles and "non green" tractors were his passion.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Judy Schroeder.

Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Susan Hutchens; his daughter, Tracy Lawler and her husband, Barry; his son, Jody Hutchens; his wonderful grandchildren, Taylor, Jillian, Bella, Taber, and Bree; his furry companions, Fancy Lou and Oreo; his siblings, Carol (Jerry) Crady, Woody (Elaine) Hutchens, Phyllis (Bob) Kaiser, Rick (Debbie) Hutchens, Beth Ann (Steve) Luckett, Mary Denise (Carl) Smith, Laura (Mike) Schnell, Tom (Teresa) Hutchens, Mark Hutchens; and many extended family and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for expressions of sympathy to be made to Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana.
