

ROBERT P. MORGAN, 85, and well known New Albany tailor, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Frank T. and Lenora (Kerr) Morgan, Robert was born May 20, 1928 in New Albany. He took over ownership and operated J. J. Morgan & Son Custom Tailors in New Albany until 1999, after learning the trade from his elder brother and father in the 1940s. Robert was also a U.S. Army veteran and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany. The family would like to especially thank Vicki Curtis, caregiver for 7 years, Amy Banet, neighbor and friend, and Sean Petty, with Hosparus, for the special care and support shown to Robert and his family.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Frank Morgan.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carolyn S. (Cullins) Morgan; daughter, Beverly M. Anderson (Andy); Andy’s sons, Jeffrey and Russell Anderson; brothers, Thomas and Charles Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park
