Robert W. Schroeder

ROBERT W. SCHROEDER, 88, died peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his home. Bob was a WWII Army veteran and was Parts Manager at Craig Ford and Jim O’Neal Ford. He was a member and usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany and member of the Cardinal Ritter Council Knights of Columbus. He was a musician, playing gigs at family events and nursing homes. He was a wood crafter making grandfather clocks and violins. Bob was an avid storyteller who never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry G. and Caroline (Korbe) Schroeder and siblings, Willie Schroeder, Ed Schroeder, Evelyn Bedan, Kip Schroeder, Bernice Wright and Katie Schroeder.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ann M. (Fessel) Schroeder; children, Jim Schroeder (Diane), Sondra Bolte (Carla) and Tony Schroeder (Annie); sister, Helen Rudy; sister-in-law, Marie Schroeder; grandchildren, Sasha, Hannah, Jennifer, Aubrey, Kelly, Zach, Corey, Joe and Gretchen; 11 Great Grandchildren and 4 on the way.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm ~ 7:00 pm Sunday and after 9:00 am Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:30 Sunday at the funeral home. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
