Robert "Bob" Wayne Shew

Robert “Bob” Wayne Shew, born April 4, 1937, left this world on July 28, 2021. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana and attended Deming School and Garfield High School where he would play basketball and become a prominent member of the band. Bob would go on to become one of the best trombone players at Garfield. After starting a family and working hard in the farming industry, he entered into employment at The Milwaukee Railroad in 1966. He would retire from the railroad 33 years later. In retirement, Bob would spend time with family and friends, enjoying riding his motorcycle and watching his grandchildren grow up. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Marie of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and step-son, Mike Johnson, of Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by 6 children, Christie, Julie, Brian, Sherri, David, and Michelle with his first wife, Mollie. He had 3 step-sons, Jimmy, Johnny, and Mark; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. We love him dearly and he will be missed every day until we meet again. Visitation for Bob will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
