

Ruel Landan Minyard, 70 years of age died Tuesday May 31st, 2016 at Norton Hospital in Lousville, KY. He was born October 10, 1945 in Danville, Kentucky to the late Ruel and Hazel (Decker) Minyard and spent his young life in Paris, Kentucky before moving to Louisville. Ruel graduated from Shawnee High School and attended Western Kentucky University. He retired as a driver with Sodrel truck Lines and Free Enterprise Transportation. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Olivia Sanders and Louevia Smith. Ruel will be especially missed by his wife of 51 years Sharon and fondly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sharon R. (Richey) Minyard; daughter, Shannon Johnson; son, Michael Scott Minyard and wife Melissa; granddaughter, Kelly Henley and husband Jason; great granddaughter, Natalie Henley; sister, Utevia Decker; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm Friday June 3rd, and after 8:00 am Saturday June 4th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday June 4th, at the Kraft Spring St. Chapel. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm E.S.T. Saturday at Hillgrove Church Cemetery in Edmondson County, Kentucky.
