

A funeral Mass for Ruth Geswein Harbeson, 84, of New Albany, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany, with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery. She died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
The daughter of the late Christie and Margaret Benson Geswein, she was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Lanesville. She worked at H. A. Seinsheimer’s in New Albany and the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a former Silvertoner and long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Kay Tomes, of Sellersburg; son, Bruce Harbeson, of Floyds Knobs; grandson, Jamie Tomes and his wife, Brenda, of Prospect, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Avery, Greyson and Caroline Tomes; and sister, Joyce Schueler, of Lanesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert B. Harbeson; sisters, Mildred Gleason and Alice Ott; and brothers, Willard, Chester and Alfred Geswein.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
