Obituary of Ruth Ann Kelley
Ruth Ann (Wilson) Kelley, 93 years of aged died Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was a native of New Albany, Indiana, born July 1, 1921 to the late Frank and Anna Wilson. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a 1939 graduate of New Albany High School. She was a lifelong devout catholic and longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. In her early years, she was employed at Willet Furniture Company. She also assisted at W. M. Kelley Co., founded by her husband of 33 years and carried on by her sons, Mike and Fred Kelley. Her primary occupation was mother, grandmother, and homemaker, which she carried out with beauty and grace. She has taught love of God and family and has been a shining example for her loved ones and so many others. She dedicated her life to her family and will be deeply missed. Ruth had a passion for music and dancing which she enjoyed until her final day. She met the love of her life at a dance at age 13 and they spent many years dancing together. Preceding Bill’s death in 1976 they enjoyed round dancing and travelling with friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Kelley; son, David M. Kelley; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Kelley. She is survived by her loving children, Becky Knotts (Tony), Pat Kelley (Pam), Fred Kelley (Marla), Peggy Schaffer (Robby), Mike Kelley (Susan), Jeanne Lind (David), Sally Watts (William); grandchildren, Tony Knotts, Jr. (Julie), Eric Knotts, Heather Smith (Charlie), Amy Guilford, (Jason Brogan), Kara Kelley (Jordan Froblom), Sarah Hays (Seth), Kayse Greer (Brian) Sam Kelley (Rebecca), Jack Jacobs, Suzanne Alvey (Anthony), Corey Jackson (Angela), Emily Uhl (Jason), Katie Watts (Stephen Fairley), Rachel Watts; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Knotts, Muni Froblom, Gunther Knotts, Lucy Guilford, Andrew John “A.J.” Smith, Stella Hays, Cooper Greer, Wren Alvey, and soon expected Archer Hays. Visitation will be 11:00 am ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday and 11:00 am ~ 1:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
