Ruth Ann Yingling

Ruth Ann Yingling, age 60 passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022.  She was born on January 17, 1962, to the late Fred L. Jr. and Joyce E. (Michell) Yingling.  Ruth was a dependable employee at Papa John’s and Pizza Hut as well as working at Texas Roadhouse for 18 years.

Anyone who knew Ruth knew how special of a person she was.  With all of the difficulties that life dealt her from the time she was born, she always had a heart of gold and managed to persevere.   She loved life and loved people.  She had a heart for the homeless and enjoyed volunteering in programs to feed the homeless and many times giving them her very own clothes.  Ruth always participated in the Breast Cancer awareness walks and was also very involved in the Special Olympics in the bowling competition. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, and going to movies, and was always up for going out to eat whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Ruth also really enjoyed the music therapy that the Meaningful Days Services offered her. Cadence Elbert was her beloved music therapist.  Ruth loved her faith and her church family.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Albany.  Ruth was cared for by her caregiver, friend, and Cousin Pamela Michell Smith as well as the staff at her supportive living Home, Volunteers of America where she enjoyed each day with her roommates Judy and Lisa.

Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Yingling; grandparents, Jacob and Ester Michell, and Fred Sr. and Juanita Yingling; and aunt, Saundra Alldaffer.

She is survived by her stepsisters, Angela D. Payton, and Christina S. Yingling; Niece Lexie Payton, Aunts, Kay Isaacs, and Sherry Yingling; uncles, Tom Yingling, Jerry Yingling, Chester Michell, Steve Michell, and James Michell.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708, E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, 47150.

Ruth will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana
