Sara R. (Higdon) Bell, 38, took her last breath on earth at home Friday evening, July 31, 2020. The daughter of Theresa Merideth and Eric Higdon, Sara was born December 27, 1981 in Louisville, Kentucky. Sara was a graduate of Providence High School and retired as an Administrator for the New Albany Police Department. She was a 20 year member and 2nd Vice President of the Lee Deich Memorial Lodge 99 F.O.P. Auxiliary.
Sara was one of the most loving, caring, and courageous people anyone could know. She fought long and hard. She was a warrior. Most of all, she was a loving mother, daughter, sister, beautiful wife, and best friend. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and Charleston, South Carolina.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Bell; children, Donovan, Shelby, Avery, Aiden, and Makenna; parents, Theresa and Paul Merideth and Eric and Sue Higdon; siblings, Jason Higdon, Lauren Higdon, Jimmy Wolfe (Dana), Scott Wolfe (Carolyn), P.J. Merideth (Batina), and Kimberly Merideth; In-laws, David and Theresa Bell; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and J.T. Durst; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be 1 pm ~ 8 pm Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. Her Funeral Service will be 12 Noon Wednesday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. The family requests all visitors wear protective masks and abide by current regulations.
