Scotty R. Spencer Sr.

SCOTTY R. "PAPPY" SPENCER, SR., 77, a loving father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2014 at his daughter’s residence in the presence of family. Scotty was born May 25, 1936 to Ruth and Albert Spencer in Benham, KY. Before retirement, Scotty was enlisted in the United States Navy which he proudly served as a Petty Officer 2nd Class for 10 years. During his military career, Scotty was recognized as an Ambassador of Peace for his time aboard the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard CVA 31 in 1961. After he was honorably discharged, he worked for the General Electric Company for 26 years. In his spare time, Scotty enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and all things sports. He was a quiet man who enjoyed his privacy but truly loved spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, Scotty was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Todd Spencer.

He is survived by his four children: Scott R. Spencer, Jr., Jennifer M. Endris, Stephanie R. Spencer and Shelley J. Hays (Ron); and his eleven grandchildren.

The family will be holding a private ceremony and burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park at a later date.
