Shirley A. Schafer

Shirley A. Schafer, 84, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville. She was born June 26, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Andrew J. and Helen (Hoffman) Westerman. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lynch. She retired from Providence High School in 1990 after serving 12 years as chief cook, was a member of VFW Auxillary #1693, the Colgate Retirees Club, and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana.

Survivors include:

Husband of 65 years: Charles J. Schafer

Children: Donna Howard (Earl)

David Schafer (Karen)

Andrea Schafer

Grandchildren: KC Schafer and Lucy Howard

Great Granddaughter:Brynn Howard

Many Nieces and Nephews

And her beloved dog, Sallie

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 11:00 am Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 316 N Sherwood Ave. Clarksville, Indiana with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
