Stacy (Lenfert) Tunnell

She was the proud co-owner of Strandz Salon alongside her sisters, Julie Young and Stefanie Griffith, where she built more than a business- she built relationships. Her clients weren’t just clients; they were friends and part of her extended family. She had a way of making people feel seen, cared for, and just a little more confident when they walked out the door.

Stacy had a love for travel and adventure, always ready for her next trip with her husband of 35 years, David Tunnell. She embraced experiences, laughter, and the simple joy of being present in the moment.

To her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, Stacy was more than a grandparent and aunt- she was a second mom, a constant source of love, support, fun, and a great haircut. She showed up, again and again, in all the ways that mattered. They are deeply grateful for the role she played in their lives and the love she gave so freely.

Stacy’s life wasn’t measured in years, but in the connections she made, the joy she spread, and the love she left behind.

Stacy leaves behind her husband David Tunnell, daughters Kelly Chmielewski (Jason), Kristy Hampton (Scott), grandchildren Allison Staples, Mia Chmielewski, and Alia Hampton, siblings PJ Lenfert, Chuck Lenfert (Carol), Julie Young (Melvin), and Stefanie Griffith (Tony), nieces and nephews Brandon Young (Krista), Jessica Young, Joey Griffith (Corrin), Aly Lee (Wyatt), Jacob Griffith (Maddie), and great nieces and nephews Tilly Young, Margot Young, and Liam Griffith.

In honor of Stacy, take a trip, hug your loved ones a little tighter, and don’t wait to enjoy the moment.

Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 415 E. 8th Street, New Albany, Indiana. Stacy will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.

Contributions in Stacy's memory can be made to Prosser Alumni Association in care of Stacy Tunnell for cosmetology school.
