Stonewall "Jack" Jackson Dohoney, 89, of Greenville, passed away on September 18, 2026. Jack was born on July 8, 1937, in Galena, Indiana, to the late William A. Dohoney and Loriettia (Heinze) Dohoney. Jack served his country in the United States Air Force and was a retired manager for the Boise Cascade Company. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Roderick "Rod" Dohoney; and siblings Benjamin Dohoney, William Dohoney, and Juanita Yost. Jack was a devoted follower of Jesus who loved God and his family. He was a hardworking and disciplined man who cared deeply for those around him. He enjoyed farming, basketball, westerns, Joann's cooking, bowling, canoeing, playing cards, meeting new people and striking up a conversation, music and singing, and spending time with his family. He was patient, understanding, and maintained a lifelong sense of wonder and appreciation for life.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joann Newton Dohoney; daughter, Cindy Roettger (Dannie); siblings, Douglas Dohoney (Paulette), John Dohoney (Dorothy), Robert Dohoney (Lisa), Catherine Brown, Susie Roberts (Clifton), Judy Paul (Dennis); grandchildren, Matthew Muir Tadhg Dohoney (Elisabeth), Valkyrie Arcadia Chell (Ryan), Marie-Anne Smith (Darius), Moses Avery Dohoney; great grandchildren, Stonewall, Aurora, Emma, Ignatius, Finnian, Boone, Mason, Roman, and Remmington.
Visitation will be 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026 and 9:00 am until 11:00 am Monday, September 28, 2026 at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, September 28, 2026 at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park
