Suzanne (Banet) Summers

Suzanne (Banet) Summers, 84, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away June 6, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in New Albany, Indiana on November 26, 1941, to the late James and Alginet Best Banet. She was affectionately known as Mustang Suzie, Suz and GG to those that knew her best. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and volunteered in various capacities within the Catholic community. She enjoyed spending time with her family and showed her love by hosting holiday gatherings. Suz was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed playing cards with cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chumpy" Summers; two brothers, Pat and Edward Banet; her sister, Jeanne Henson; and her granddaughter, Alexis "Lexi" Noelle Summers.

Suz is survived by three children, Timothy (Crystal) Summers, Kimberly Deatrick and James (Beth) Summers; siblings, Jim Banet, Karen Miller, Mark Banet, Marilyn (Tim Moore) Banet and Nick (Debbie) Banet; brother-in-law, Paul Henson; grandchildren, Allison, Alex, Derek (Maddy), Andrea (Kyle), Max (Kayla), Blake, Sidney, Jakob (Brianna) and A.J.; twelve great grandchildren; and countless beloved friends and family.

Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on June 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on June 18, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church- Chapel, 3303 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119, on June 18, 2026, at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Saint Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
