At the entrance to the locally famous Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Watertown, MA, Ecclesiastes 12:7 is quoted as “so shall the dust return to the earth from whence it came and the spirit shall return to God who gave it”. Every time I drove by that entrance, I was reminded that life is a gift and should be lived well if only for that reason. Cousin Freddy’s life is truly a testament to God’s gift in this regard. May Sue and family find comfort in this time of sorrow. With deepest sympathy. Cousin Jim.

To the Williams Family:

My sincerest condolences. Coach Fred remains a mainstay in my memories of my years at PHS. He was an incredible man. He was kind, compassionate, and motivating. I enjoyed working with him on the court and running in to him at games. He truly brought joy to all he met.

Remembering Cousin Fred from way back when we moved from Clarksville and I was in first grade. There was always a "pack" of Williams kids . Fred was in typically in the lead, laughing and moving from games in the yard, to the court, to the field, to the street or piling in a car with the "pack" to go to somewhere great. I found it magic and mysterious as they moved through the joy. Wherever they were, there was sports, music, singing and laughter.. Through the years I have seen and heard that that he continued to still be that guy. I thank God some things never change.

My heart is there with Sue and my large, wonderful family thinking about what we have gained and always will gain in knowing Fred instead of thinking what we lost.

Providence High School has truly lost an outstanding graduate with the passing of "Mr. Fred". As a fellow graduate of PHS we were blessed to have known Fred and he will be sorely missed. He set an example for all of us as we continue to remember Fred's contribution to all who knew him.
