Thomas Lee Narron, 83, passed away on August 25, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana. Tom was born on September 8, 1942, in Henryville, Indiana to the late Thomas L. Narron and Zenobia (Brishaber) Narron where he was raised and graduated from high school in 1960. He was a proud graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, where he earned his master's degree in mathematics. While at IU he met AnneNell Wilson and they married on December 21, 1968.
Tom was a beloved teacher in the math department of Charlestown High School, where he spent his entire 32 year career including his student teaching. In addition to his work in the classroom, Tom was a legendary fixture of Pirate Basketball, faithfully keeping the scorebook for an incredible 54 years.
Tom was a lifetime volunteer. He donated years of service to HOPE Food Pantry in New Albany, and had fun times with his L.I.F.T. group. Tom was a devoted member of First Baptist Church where he also volunteered in many areas including the highlight of his year, child summer camp, and helping with the disaster relief program. He enjoyed spending his extra time singing with the Silvertoners, and being with his family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, AnneNell (Wilson) Narron; and his brother, Nick Narron.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Phyllis Shaw and Candy Narron; his brother, John Narron (Glennda); as well as an extended community of former students, colleagues, and friends who will miss his leadership and warmth.
A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service celebrating Tom's life and enduring legacy will be held at the same location on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 12:00 pm with Pastor Steve Davidson officiating. Tom will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like expressions of sympathy to be made to HOPE food pantry in New Albany, Indiana.
