

Tom was born August 12, 1942 to the late Floyd and Aline Hurt Spears in Glasgow, KY. He was employed as a meat cutter with both the Pic-Pac Food Mart in Louisville and the old A&P Grocery in New Albany. He was a member of the Redmen Club, Floyd County VFW Post #3281 and was a proud dad, grandpa, husband and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Spears and brother-in-law, John Dallas Kingsley.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Norma "Susie" Hampton Spears; children, David Spears (Stephanie), of Jeffersonville, IN and Angela Spears Lawson (Cliff), of Sellersburg, IN; seven grandchildren, Justin Pool, Brian Rusk, Meagan and Mercedes Spears, Lauren Woodmansee, Jordan Toan and Alyssa Eberle; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Jones and Peyton Greenwell; four sisters, Betty Hampton, Mary Kingsley, Barbara Haley and Kathy Bodenbender; two brothers, Steve Spears (Diane) and Jimmy Spears (Terri); special sister-in-law, Vickie Spears; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service Chapel, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
