Timothy L. “Tim” Kern, 69, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from multiple myeloma. He graduated from Flaget High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Air Force Security Service from 1965-1969 during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Rohm and Haas Chemical from 1969 until his retirement in 2001. He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin J. Kern, Sr.; mother, Corinne Schramm Kern and her second husband, Timothy J. Kern, who was also Tim’s uncle and adoptive father; and brother, Melvin J. Kern, Jr.
He is survived by:

Daughter: Terri Kern Vessels (David)
Grandchildren: Christopher, Alicia, Andrew, Anna, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Jadyn, and Lydia Vessels
Great Grandson: Ayden
Nieces: Christy Kern Storm (Jason)
Stephanie Kern Evans (Chad)
2 great nieces, 2 great nephews and several cousins.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday at the Kraft Funeral Chapel with private burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
