Victor H. Gunterman

Victor H. “Vic” Gunterman 90 years of age of died Tuesday June 28th, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was born February 28th, 1921 in New Albany to the late Riley and Ethelda Leibert Gunterman. Vic was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, the former owner and operator of the old Vic’s Standard Oil Station at State and Spring Streets for some 25 years and then owned and operated Vic’s Tavern on rear Market St. in New Albany for some 17 years until his retirement in 1977. Vic’s is still run in the family tradition by his son Rick. Vic will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and patrons he served throughout his life.

Wife of 63 years: Nora “Jane” Stovall Gunterman

Daughter: Sallie Grim (Don ) Sellersburg, IN

Son: Rick L. Gunterman New Albany, IN

9 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St, New Albany. His funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Kraft Chapel with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park with military honors. The family requests expressions of sympathy go to : American Heart Association.
