Vivian Margaret Vance Guyer, died November 17, 2015 at University Hospital at the age of 95. She enjoyed happy, healthy, productive, loving and well-loved years. “Mimi Boots” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren was born to Margaret and John Vance in Baltimore, MD. She was a registered nurse and served as one of only 11,000 such professionals in the US Navy in World War II where he met Charles T. Guyer, whom she married in 1946. “Guyer” preceded her in death in 1974. Vivian enjoyed bridge, reading, travelling and her family, whom she tried to keep in line with prayers on their behalf. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in New Albany. She was a resident of Westminster Village, Clarksville, for 8 years. She enjoyed the many activities and friendships she developed there.
Left to cherish her memory are her children John C. Guyer (Bree) of Alexandria VA and Mary Guyer Forsee (David) of Jeffersonville, IN., grandchildren, Adam C. Guyer, Jennifer Hartley (Brandon) and John Forsee (Sarah) and six great grandchildren, Aaron, Sam, Nathan, Ryan, Luke and Claire.
The family wishes to thank the kind, compassionate staff at University Hospital, including MICU, PCU and the ER.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1752 Scheller Ln., New Albany, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield, Virginia.
