

Walter S. McCauley, 92 years of age died Wednesday May 21st, 2014. Walter was born October 9, 1921 in New Albany, IN to the late John Henry and Clara (Langdon) McCauley. He was a Plumber with the old Valley Plumbing Co. in Louisville, KY until retiring in 1983 and was the widower of Virginia (McCutcheon) McCauley. Walter loved his family and spent a great deal of time caring for family and friends. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of W. W. #2 and recepient of four Bronze Stars while serving most of his deployment overseas. Walter loved animals but most of all his family and friends and he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia (McCutcheon) McCauley, Daughter Mildred Lamb, Grandson Michael James Smith, and great-grandsons Timothy Cross Henderson and Cody Grangier.
Survivors include:
Two Daughters: Carol Grangier and husband Raymond Jr.
Bettie Ann Henderson
Eleven Grandchildren: Walter Lee, Jenny, Mike, Melissa, Andy, Tony, Darren, Stephanie,
Tim, Kristian and Adam.
Thirty Great-Grandchildren and Seventeen Great-Great-Grandchildren
Reception of Family and Friends will be from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday May 26th and after 9:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday May 27th, at the Kraft Chapel with Full Military Honors. Burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
