William “Bill” H. Newman 86 years of age died Sunday August 3, 2014 at his home. He was born July 9, 1928 in Lebanon Junction, KY to the late George and Ruth Newman. Bill was a Navy Veteran and a retired automatic sprinkler fitter. He was a member of the Sprinkler Fitters Union local 669 and Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Margie and his great-granddaughter Chloe.
Survivors include his sons, David Newman (Debbie), Donald Newman; sisters, Finettie Howell, Dorothy McGinty; brother, George Newman; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home chapel with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Blue River Services, 5771 Speed Rd., Milltown, IN 47145 or The Gideons International.
