Funeral services for William R. “Bill” Yates, 94, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, at Kraft Funeral Home, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, IN. with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired auto salesperson from Bales Motor Co. in Jeffersonville, former employee at American Tobacco Co. in Louisville, and an Army Veteran of World War II.
He was the widow of Madeline Dean Yates and predeceased by his daughter, Shirley J. Yates.
Survivors include two sons, Carl E. LaVon, Jeffersonville, and Mike LaVon (Linda), Charlestown; three daughters, Linda Fugit (Jim), Clarksville, Shari L. Huffman (Mike), Hebron, KY., and Debora J. Crone (Darrell), Charlestown; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to American Heart Association or ALS Association.
