Zoey Celeste Schutt

Zoey Celeste Schutt, 24, was born in Tallahassee, FL on September 11, 1995 and passed away on January 21, 2020. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Anthony Japak and her grandfather, Richard Schutt.
She is survived by her parents, Lori Mihalik and Andrew (Wendi) Schutt; brothers, Ben and Alex; a sister, Isabella; a step brother and sister, Christianna and Austin; grandparents, Don and Joyce Saftner and grandmother, Sandra Schutt; grandfather, James Mihalik; great-grandmother, Dorothy (known as "Great")Japak. Zoey is also survived by her aunt, Michelle; uncles, Matt, Dave (Missy), Steve, Geoff (Angie) and Martha (David); cousins, Josh, Taylor, Jake, Ashley, Brianna, Sam, Pete, and Maggie; and many loving aunts and uncles. Two special friends who loved her unconditionally, Julianna Gustafson and Alex Yong and her most special companion, Shiva the cat.
Zoey will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was especially gifted working with computers at Indiana University as a software engineer. She graduated from Community Montessori School in New Albany, Indiana in 2014. She enjoyed helping her brothers. She loved climbing trees, hiking, camping and being outdoors. She was first on everyone’s list for help with any technology. She was especially close to her mother.
A celebration of life for Zoey will be held at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150 on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 12-2 pm with the service at 2:00 pm.
