Albert R. Daniel, age 93, of Acushnet, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Lorraine L. (Lecuyer) Daniel.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Cleophas and Elvina (Desorcy) Daniel, he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Acushnet.

A veteran of the United States Navy Seabees he served during World War II in the Pacific. He never forgot any of his Seabee buddies and attended many Seabee reunions throughout the country over the years. A shipping clerk for New Bedford Thread for 36 years he retired in 1990. A 60 year member of the American Legion Post #265 in Acushnet, he loved to travel and spend time with his family.

He is survived by six children, Carole A. Gorczyca and her husband Richard of New Bedford, David A. Daniel and his wife Nancy of Acushnet, Michael H. Daniel and his wife Sheila of Rochester, Roy N. Daniel and his wife Susan of Rochester, Elaine M. Negalha and her husband Serafim of East Freetown and Rhonda L. Demers and her husband Francis of Fairhaven; a brother, Paul Daniel of New Bedford; sixteen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Romeo and Norman Daniel.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting Hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
