

Albert R. Davignon, age 54, of Acushnet, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was the loving husband of Cherrie (Lopes) Davignon with whom he shared 26 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Silva) Davignon, he had resided in Acushnet for the past 20 years. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Al had worked as a truck driver for Sysco for over 20 years.
Al loved life and cherished the time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially the beach, skiing and a good roaring fire at his fire pit. Al had numerous friends whom he loved.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his three children, Ellen, Hayden and Jack Davignon; four brothers, Robert Davignon and his wife Diane, Ed Davignon and his wife Joan, Richard Davignon and his wife Brenda and Bryant Davignon and his wife Rachel; his beloved aunt and uncle, Roger and Diane Davignon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4-8pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His family requests casual attire.
