Anita M. Wilcox

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Claire (Boucher) Wilcox and the late David Wilcox, she had resided in Billerica for the past 20 years.

She was a graduate of Boston University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Anita had worked as a computer programmer for many years.

After graduating, she traveled extensively with her college friends. She also traveled with friends who shared their writing talent together.

Survivors include her mother, Claire Wilcox of New Bedford; two brothers, Michael Wilcox of Billerica and Glenn Wilcox and his wife Jennifer of New Bedford; her nephews and niece, Caleb, Tucker and Chloe Wilcox; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; and former spouse Doug Hoppes.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 9 am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458.
