Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Carlos and Marion (Borges) Lawrence, she was a life-long resident of the area.
Anna loved all animals especially cats and was an avid gardener.
Besides her husband she is survived by a brother, Richard Lawrence and his wife Jenny of North Dartmouth; three sisters, Theresa Silva of New Bedford, Mary Tremblay and her husband Al of New Bedford and Cindy Adriano and her husband Al also of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Avellar, Hilda Costa and Charles and John Lawrence.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11 AM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours, Thursday 6-8 PM. For tributes/directions www.ROCK-funeralhome.com
