Annette T. (Parent) Poitras, 90, of New Bedford, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at home. She was the former wife of the late Raymond G. Poitras.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late George and Blanche (Hamel) Parent, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She attended Holy Family High School.

Mrs. Poitras worked in the healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mediplex Rehab Hospital and previously at Lakeville Hospital.

She was a hospice volunteer, a member of the Acushnet Seniors and pitch league. She enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, bowling, dining at her favorite restaurants and spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Wayne R. Poitras and wife Janet of FL, Michael R. Poitras and wife Anita of Acushnet, Donna M. Thomson of New Bedford and Jane Poitras Manchester and husband Frederick of Acushnet; three sisters, Lois Fortier of New Bedford, Muriel Goyette of CT and Jeanne Levasseur of MA; three grandchildren, Derek Poitras and wife Kim, Bethany Donovan and husband Mark and Matthew Poitras and companion Michelle; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Rhiannon Bliss Poitras; her son-in-law, Scott Thomson; and her siblings, Gerald, Alfred and Roger Parent and Claire Lacoste.

Her Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 440 Main St., Fairhaven. For online tributes: www.rock-funeralhome.com
