Antonio M. Pacheco, 83, of Acushnet passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 24, 2026 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Ligia (Pacheco) Pacheco with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Sao Miguel Portugal, a son of the late Antonio and Tomozia (Tavares) Pacheco he grew up there before coming to America in 1968. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Mr. Pacheco worked as a foreman for Turner Construction Company. Antonio was very well known and respected for being the Immaculate Conception leader of the Romeiros. He enjoyed caring for his chickens, rabbits, tending to his garden and cutting trees to provide wood for his home. Mr. Pacheco was a devoted family man.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Peter Pacheco and his wife Sue of Dartmouth, Raquel Ellis and her husband Gene of Taunton, and Sally Clementino and her husband Sam of Acushnet; his cherished granddaughters, Ella Pacheco, Ava Pacheco, and Elise Pacheco; siblings, Julietta Oliveira, Antoneta Amaral, Veronica Cavaco, Madeline Larson, Marta Franco, and Joe Pacheco.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be July 2, 2026 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford, MA 02746. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-7 p.m. in Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
