Born in Mexilhoeira Grande Portugal, a daughter of the late Jose M. and Antonia (Goncalves) Gorgulho she spent her early years there before moving shortly to Germany and Canada before settling in the United States. She was a member of the New Seasons Worship Center where she loved going to church and worshiping Jesus. Mrs. Vieira worked for the New Bedford School Department in the food service department. Previously, she worked as a seamstress in Canada at Eaton’s Department Store. In her spare time, Arlinda enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, and spending time with her family. She made many happy visits to Canada and Maryland. Arlinda loved to cook; especially making green bean soup and kale soup for her grandchildren. Words fail to express our heartbreak in the loss of a loved congregant member & very dear friend. Your dry sense of humor, your infectious laughter & your encouragement was one of our greatest joy to behold. Over the years, we shared our faith, our love of the Lord & you & Rene was an inspiration to us. We will miss your presence in our lives. We know you are in the presence of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ where one day we will once again rejoice together. Love you.

My condolences to the family. So many memories from making ice cubes for for me when I was pregnant for when I ran out. Babysitting Susie and Richie. And her and my daughter calling each other garbage from across the yards. The sweetest soul will never be forgotten. RIP my friend.
