Arne A. Knudsen

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Arne and Alice (Nolin) Knudsen, he was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mr. Knudsen served in the US Air Force during peacetime and was a Manager at Precix in New Bedford for many years before retiring.

He was an avid reader and a huge fan of New England sports.

He is survived by two daughters, Erica Knudsen of New Bedford and Sonja Backstrom and her husband Steven of Acushnet; two grandchildren, Sarah and Ross Backstrom both of Acushnet; a sister, Sigrid Knudsen of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Irene Medeiros.

His funeral service will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 7 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. Visiting hours, Monday 4-7 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
