Arsene J. "Aj" DaSilva

Born in New Bedford, a son of Kelly Vieira and Scott DaSilva, he was a lifelong area resident.

AJ was a sophomore at the Greater New Bedford Vocational High School where he was studying carpentry. He enjoyed playing baseball, being on the computer, and spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by Kelly Vieira’s boyfriend: Scott Rose, his sister: Dakotah Dudley, his uncle: Derek Vieira, his aunt: Shannon Preston, his grandmother Diane LaPlante DaSilva, his beloved dog Katy, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Kathleen Mae Vieira, and the great-grandson of his Mémère, the late Roseanna LaPlante.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 18,2016 at 9AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4PM to 8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Tomorrow Fund, Rhode Island Hospital Campus, 593 Eddy St., Providence, RI 02903-4947. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
