Augusto A Tenreiro

Augusto A. Tenreiro, age 85, of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. He was the husband of Maria (Duarte) R. Tenreiro to whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage this May.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of the late Victorino and Francisca (Alburquerque) Tenreiro. He was employed by the City of New Bedford for 30 years, as a Project Manager. He enjoyed soccer and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Ana Makin and her husband David of Fairhaven and Maria Tassoni and her husband Joseph of N. Dartmouth, three grandchildren: Bryan and Craig Swallow and Scott Makin, three great-grandchildren: Sydney, Addison and Reece Swallow, one sister: Josefina Theriaga of Portugal, three nephews: Joseph Theriaga of Fl, Jorge Theriaga and Jose Tenreiro both of Portugal, two nieces: Emily Jerome of Freetown and Elizabeth Bairos of Rochester. He was predeceased by his brothers Simon Tenreiro and Jose Tenreiro.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 9:30AM at St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarklin Hill Road, New Bedford. Arrangements are in the care of Rock Funeral Home, New Bedford. Burial Private. For tributes of directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com
