Barbara Ann Betkis-Jaiman

Barbara A. Betkis-Jaiman, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the youngest daughter of James Betkis, his wife Diane, of Merrimac, Wisconsin, and was preceded in death by her mother Patricia (Burnes) Betkis.

Barbara was a graduate of Bristol Community College. She worked as a property manager in real estate for ACORN Management. She was a devoted employee and loved by residents. She was an avid communicant to New Life South Coast Church in New Bedford. She assisted in Connect Corner, homeless shelters and hospice outreach. She is beloved by her brothers and sisters in Christ.

She is survived by her husband Eli Jaiman of New Bedford; her beloved daughter and best friend, Alicia Mendez of New Bedford; three stepchildren, Elizabeth Jaiman of Connecticut, Silvia and Eli Jaiman Jr. of Lowell; two brothers, Brian Randall and James McGonigal and his wife Christine of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Julia Betkis and her fiancé Sydney Talbot, Jr. of Boston, Sherry Randall and Terri Jump and her husband Brian, both of Mauston, Wisconsin.

She also leaves behind her very special peanut, Kinsley, the daughter of her niece Kristen Elliott and her boyfriend Brent Lawson. In addition, her God Daughter and niece Ashley Klang and her husband Nathan and family, and nieces Courtney Rozek and her husband Steven and their family, Jennifer Pearl and her husband Charles and family, Kimberly Grino and her husband Chris and their family; her nephews Derrick Elliott and his wife Kelli, Jason Jump and his wife Celia, Joshua Jump and his girlfriend Nikki Nava and their family, Brian Randall and his family, and Noah and Ian McGonigal.

She leaves behind a sister-in-law Gina Jaiman and her fiancé Glen Betts, of Taunton, a brother-in-law Hector Jaiman, Jr and his wife and family, and Eli’s sister Shirley Jaiman and family. Additionally, other family members and a large extended family on her husband’s side.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. Her Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 PM.
