Barbara A. Marshall

Barbara A. Marshall, a beloved resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on January 25, 1933, Barbara was the daughter of the late Alfred and Filomena (DeCampos) Macedo. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall.

Barbara was a proud graduate of New Bedford High School and furthered her education by receiving a certificate from Kinyon Campbell Business School. She dedicated her career to working as a legal secretary for Attorney Louis Stone.

She is survived by her niece, Kathleen Macedo, and her goddaughter, Joanne Barbara Almeida. She also leaves behind her great nieces and nephew, Jessica Macedo, Jennifer Bowie, and Michael Joseph Macedo Jr., as well as great great nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Joseph Macedo and her nephew, Michael Joseph Macedo Sr.

Barbara had a passion for the outdoors and cherished her time spent at the beach. She loved dancing at the Navy base with her husband, James, and was known for her musical talent, having played the guitar in her earlier years. Barbara enjoyed playing cards, as well as indulging in theater, arts, and dining out.

A visitation will be held at Rock Funeral Home, located at 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on May 16, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A graveside service will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford, starting at 11:00 am.
