Barbara Pereira

Barbara (Perpetua) Pereira, 75, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Francisco Pereira, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Terceira, Açores she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Maria do Carmo (Martins) Perpetua.

Barbara worked as a stitcher at Cameo Curtains for many years. She married the love of her life, and they raised a beautiful family together. Spending time with her family was very important, especially her grandchildren she adored. Barbara enjoyed gardening, cooking, and watching all her favorite soap operas. She had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, Francisco, she is survived by her loving children, Manuel “Manny” Pereira and his wife Melanie of Dartmouth, and Ana Pereira of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Zoe, Harper and Penelope; a sister, Eduarda Aguiar of New Bedford; a brother, Nelson Perpetua and his companion Antonia of CA; her best friend, Elena Felizardo, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose and Luis Perpetua.

Her Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, September 27, from 10:00 – 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME.
