Carlos A. Cardoso

Carlos A. Cardoso, age 65 of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Goretti F. (Caiano) Cardoso to whom he had been married for 41 years.

He was born in Chaves, Portugal, the son of the late Antonio and Deolinda (deJesus) Cardoso. Carlos was a Foreman with Local 223 Laborer’s Union for many years. Carlos enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Carlos is survived by his two children Jessica Arruda and her husband Joe of Acushnet and Kevin Cardoso and his wife Christina of New Bedford; four grandchildren Novalye and Nolan Arruda, Jazlyn and Kylen Cardoso; seven brothers and sisters, Jose Cardoso of New Bedford, Joao Cardoso of Acushnet, Adriano Cardoso of New Bedford, Fernanda Abreu of New Bedford, Arminda daConceicao of Tampa, FL, Isabel DaSilva of Virginia and Maria Cardoso of Fairhaven; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cardoso was the brother of the late Maria Natalia DaSilva.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 9am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church 136 Earle St., New Bedford followed by his burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford. Visiting Hours will be Friday from 4 to 7PM at the Rock Funeral Home 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
