Carol Anne Stanfa

Carol Anne (Ponichtera) Stanfa, 77 of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Charles Stanfa with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Piekut) Ponichtera, Carol attended New Bedford High School and graduated from Holy Ghost Nursing School as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN for 46 years at various medical facilities. Carol loved her family dearly, cherishing every moment that she would spend with them regularly and during special occasions. She was an avid cross stitcher and knitter and enjoyed making memorable gifts for family and friends. She loved Cape Cod, beaches and beautiful sunsets.

She is survived by her loving children, her four sons Christopher Stanfa and his wife Beth of Cumberland, Damian Stanfa and his wife Katie from East Bridgewater, Nicholas Stanfa and his wife Laurie from Mansfield, Darryl Stanfa from Ohio; her two daughters Andrea Tavares and her husband Randy from Mansfield, Lauren Purdum and her husband Chris from Georgia; eight grandchildren, Jillian, Chloe, Logan, Caden, Alison, Jordan, Colin, and Greyson; a brother Andrew Ponichtera and his wife Pam from Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
