

Carolyn D. (Harb) Souza, affectionately known as Honey, passed away on April 17, 2025 at the age of 88. Born on November 29, 1936, she was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. She was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Yvonne (Longtin) Harb.
Honey was happily married to Jose Souza for 60 years until his passing in 2020. She was a kind and loving mother to Curtis Souza, Steven Souza and his partner Pamela St. Martin, and the late Kevin Souza and his wife Ann; a grandmother to Linsey Trombino and her husband Todd, Brooke Souza, and Chelsea Souza; and a great-grandmother to Micah Trombino. Honey is also survived by her brother, Robert Harb, and his wife Mary, and was predeceased by her brother, James Harb. She is fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews, as well as her dear and long-time friends.
Honey graduated from New Bedford High School and had a fulfilling career, working as a secretary at Arlan's Department Store and Continental Screw. She also contributed to the family business, Smith Mills Pharmacy in Dartmouth, for many years.
She had a passion for painting and puzzles, adored flowers (particularly roses and lilacs), and was an avid fan of Boston sports teams. She cherished spending time with family and also with the several dogs she had over the years. Honey left a lasting impact on all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to her compassionate caregivers, Charlene, Heather, Tori, and Amy.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 9:00am-12:00pm with a Funeral Service at 12:00pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
