Catherine M. McKay

Catherine Marie McKay, born on January 7, 1942, in Boston, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 84. She was a longtime resident of Fairhaven. Catherine was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur McKay Smith and Mary (Ravida) Smith.

Catherine dedicated several years of her life to working as a registered Nurse's Aide, where she provided compassionate care and support to those in need.

She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Franklin, and her son, Dale Franklin, along with his wife, Donna. Catherine was a devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Smith, and is fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her children, Ricky Franklin and Lorna Ashley.

In her personal life, Catherine had a passion for traveling and enjoyed watching old movies. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and cherished playing cards with her dear friend Norma, who predeceased her.

Catherine Marie McKay will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and love for her family and friends.

Her Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Cemetery, North St., Mattapoisett.
