OBITUARY

Celeste Fogaren

August 27, 1927September 11, 2019

Celeste (Brito) Fogaren, age 94 of New Bedford passed away at Care One New Bedford on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. She was the loving wife of Morris R. Fogaren.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Jose G. and Maria (Souza) Brito, Celeste was a lifelong New Bedford resident. She attended school in New Bedford and was an assembler at Cornell Dublier. Celeste was a devout wife and mother, who loved her family dearly. She was member of St. Mary’s Golden Agers, St. Therese Seniors and Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends.

In addition to her husband Morris, she is survived by a son, Morris A. Fogaren New Bedford; a daughter Maureen Thatcher and her husband Chet of Florida and New Bedford; three grandchildren, David and Matthew Thatcher and Amanda Pustola; two great grandchildren, Logan and Landon Pustola and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Antone Brito, John Brito, Albina Martin, Mary Homen and Linda Avila.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd. New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are in invited. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 6:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. My in-laws, Alfred and Cecile Tetreault, are both deceased but they were good friends with Morris and Celeste. Freddie spoke fondly of his friend Morris and his wife. Morris and family, you have our deepest sympathy, our Prayers and God's Peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Sally was a wonderful loving and giving woman . I have so many fond memories of her and uncle Morris when I was growing up. She will forever be in my thoughts and prayers.
