Charlotte Ann Wood

Born in Edgartown, MA, the daughter of the late Sophia (Lasowski) Carroll, she was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocation Technical High School and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Wood was most recently employed with Coastline Elderly and earlier in life was a Telephone Operator before staying home to raise her seven children. She enjoyed drawing and painting.

She is survived by three daughters, Tracy Wood-Oliveira of New Bedford, Audrey Wood of New Bedford and Robin Bennett and her husband David of Fairhaven; four sons Thomas N. Wood III and his wife Lucia of Westport, Timothy B. Wood of New Bedford, Lane Wood and his wife Deanne of New Bedford and Ty N. Wood of New Bedford; six grandchildren David Bennett Jr, Ambra Sweeney, Thomas N. Wood IV, Allison Wood, Brieanna Wood and Chase Healy; three great grandchildren Aubrey Sweeney, Ozzie Bennett and Atlas Bennett; a sister Vanessa Moore and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 12PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
