Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Armand and Jennie (Sylvia) Durant, she was a lifelong resident of New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven 6 months ago.
Mrs. Methot enjoyed gardening, reading and watching her favorite television shows. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished the time spent with her family.
Her family includes five children, Jeanne Gibb and husband Alan of New Bedford, Anne Walecka and husband Daniel of Acushnet, Madeleine Almeida and husband Jeffrey of Fall River, Raymond Methot and wife Andrea of New Bedford and Catherine Beaulieu and husband Dennis of Florida and Acushnet; nine grandchildren, Torrey, Marissa, Nicholas, Bethany, Kyle, Zachary, Emily, Courtney and Megan; five great-grandchildren, Reagan, Jacob, Theo, TJ and Zoey and one great-grandson on the way.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 9am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7pm. Flowers welcome or donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph- St. Therese Church.
