

Claire L. Reney, 92, of New Bedford passed away on August 22, 2024 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Reney and they were married for 57 years at the time of his death in 2020.
Claire was born on November 10, 1931 to the late Philias and Leona Caron in Fall River, MA. Claire grew up in New Bedford with her parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Claire was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Claire spent her work years in customer service positions and retired from LensCrafters. While working was an important part of Claire’s life many friendships were formed through jobs and employers.
Throughout her life Claire gave of her time, volunteering and investing time at church, Cub Scouts, band, and as a senior, for the council on aging art classes. In retirement was when her love for painting was ignited. Claire not only developed the techniques and eye for painting she also shared this love with others.
Claire was truly devoted to her family. Caring for her parents, grandchildren and always making sure everyone else was first. Claire was known to tell corny jokes, and taking the grandchildren out on experiences and adventures. Claire was known to be a social butterfly and happiest when out and about. Claire always provided encouragement to others to pursue their interests, goals and dreams.
Claire is survived by her children Stephen Reney of Dartmouth, Lisa (Reney) Jeronymo and her husband Keith of Upton. She leaves behind grandchildren Jane Gifford, Stephen Reney, Jr., Shayleene Reney, Kyle Jeronymo and Adam Jeronymo, and great-grandchildren Gabriel and Colton, and her grand-dog Hellen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 9:30 to 11:30AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30AM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
